UAE-India ties:
Stronger than ever

"Friendship cannot be taken for granted. It needs to be renewed through meetings of leaders," former Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi said of her visit to the UAE in 1981. India is set to follow up on the diplomatic wisdom with a visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UAE on February 10-11, 2018. Here is a trip down memory lane.

Agenda of Modi's 2018 visit

> This will be Modi's second visit to the UAE. He first visited the country in August 2015.

> At least 10-12 agreements are expected to be signed between our countries.

> Modi is expected to visit Wahat Al Karama, a memorial dedicated to UAE's heroes.

> He will speak at the 6th World Government Summit in Dubai, in which India is a partner country.

> Modi will also be laying the foundation stone for a temple in Abu Dhabi through a video link from Dubai.
